  1. I don't really recommend buying from Walmart, but If you really can't afford to buy from anywhere else then I guess you could get away with buying a cheaper version.Firstly consider wether you need a bike with gears-this is helpful as when going up steep hills or roads you can switch to a lower gear to make it easier for yourself,or perhaps switch to a higher gear when going along a pavement,as this is a logical idea.Next see wether it has an adjustable seat,so you can sit at a comfortable height. You may want to see if it has suspension,to make the ride more comfortable.A Bell, perhaps, would be useful, along with reflective strips or lights. But these can be easily bought seperately and attatched. Finally, consider storage-if you have little, perhaps consider buying a collapsable bike.If not,you can just buy a normal one.Remember to buy a puncture repair kit and,of course,a helmet.A Helmet that fits properly should not sit towards the back of the head,or feel too tight.Ask at a local bike store if you are unsure. Good Luck :]

  2. Specialized or trek. I am sorry but you have to be realistic. If you spend the money you will be happy. Remember you are going to be riding this bike twice a day. Go to a bike store tell them your problem every maker has cheaper models. Test ride at least 5 before you buy. Change the seat if it is not comfortable. Get a rear rack and a drink holder. Remember you can trade it in the next year if you want another one and they will some dealers will take some off a new model. They also sell mirrors and you need a helmet, air pump, and a bike tool and a lock.

  3. Well, avoid walmart, target, k-mart, and anything else of this nature, these bikes are made to catch your attention, but they DO NOT PERFORM, I would recommend IronHorse, they are an inexpensive bike that will last a while.

  4. That BMX bike will be terribly uncomfortable and that electric bike will fall apart the first time the wind blows.  Wal-mart bikes aren't really even that good for the money, so don't get one unless you have to.  Perhaps you could buy a used commuter bike or hardtail mountain bike off ebay or craigs list or even at a yard sale.  As a last resort Wal-mart will get the job done, though.
