Question on flying alone?

I've been flying as an unaccompanied minor since I was 8 (I'm 16 now) and my mom has always been able to go through security with me and see me to my gate, but I haven't flown alone in about 3 years and I was wondering if they'll let my mom in with me this time because I'm older?

I kind of hope they don't, because the atlanta airport is HUGE and I'm going to feel so adult going through it on my own....

  1. Don't worry! I went to Gatwick last year! I was 15 and my dad left as soon as check in! A person comes and guides you around the place and on the way back i was confident enough to find my way on my own :) Im sure they would do the same in your airport!

  2. no they won't unless she gets a certain pass from the people you check your luggage in with. i went from manchester nh airport to phoenix airprot to visit my aunt and uncle this past february vacation. my mom wanted to go with me pass security so she had to get a pass from the luggage check in people. this was my 1st time flying aloen and 2nd time flying period.

  3. As far as I know, if you don't have a valid ticket, you won't be allowed pass the check point. Might depend on the airport as well.

  4. If you are 16, you will be on your own. Only ticketed passengers are allowed in the boarding areas.

Go see www.dhs.gov  The info is on their website for mom to see.

    Regards,

    Dan

  5. haha nice

usually only ticketed passengers are allowed in the boarding areas...you will be on your own, and plus if you want just tell your mom you want to go into the gates alone...say bye to her there
