Question on foreign bank account

Does anyone know what happens if u leave a foreign country without closing ur bank account? Also if u owe money on it, i.e £30 charge or something???????????? cheers

er, i know someone that owed thousands, and left, not advisable but nothing happened to her.. but i guess it depends on the bank..

If the account is idle for a certain period of time, then it will become abandoned property, and be turned over to the state.
