  1. There aren't any side effects, not even while taking other meds. This is what's called a "combination" remedy, usually 3-6 individual homeopathic remedies thrown into one (ironically, making it non-homeopathic). People confuse homeopathy - the philosophy for taking a remedy - with the remedy itself.

Regardless, it is a bridge for the public to benefit from homeopathy's safety and efficacy, without knowing much about it. As you did, consumers are accustomed to looking for "things" to treat. The key for this to work is that the remedy I might recommend, for example, is one of those contained within the combination remedy (Hyland's Nerve Tonic).

My own brother called me yesterday to ask if it was safe to take "Calms," another popular over-the-counter combination remedy. His job is stressful, he's the sole wage earner for his wife and daughters, and he has trouble sleeping. My response? "Does it help?" He said, "Well, yeah. I feel calmer and sleep better." I said, "Then it's doing what you need."

My guess is among the ingredients in Nerve Tonic might be (I'm guessing here) chamomilla 3x (the name plus number represents a homeopathic remedy), kali phosphoricum 6x, valerian 4x, passiflora 3x, etc.

If it doesn't help, you might look into self-help homeopathy (a favorite website of my clients is http://www.abchomeopathy.com). If you do not find a single remedy to help, then you might need to consult a professional homeopath, who would sit with you for an hour or two to understand your health concerns, research, then recommend a remedy unique to you and your needs.

  2. Well what exactly is the main reason you want to take it? Do you feel anxious all day?, do you freequently have trouble sleeping/insomnia? I just read a little bit about the product you ar talking about, and depending on what symptoms you want to take it for, I may be able to suggest other solutions instead. I'll be happy to help out.
