Question on legaltiy of used video games.?

my nephew bought a used copy of halo for PC.

he ants to know the legality of this as it is used and registered to

someone else.

also

he wants to instal it on multiple PCs.

so he can play ti with his brother on a local area network

with all of the copyright stuff going around i told him

not to try play it online as it might come up as an illegal

copy.

i just don't want him to get in trouble is all

if it matters

he lives in California, USA

just in case thre is some state law as well

  1. He has the game and if he bought it legally then it shouldn't matter. You can't change the fact it is registered to someone else. It should be fine to register it on more than one PC as it still his details and he owns the game


  2. Used games are a great way to save money, it really depends on where you buy them.

    If your nephew bought the game from gamestop/ebgames then the game is guaranteed to work, if it doesn't work you can return it for a full refund. You can also return it within 7 days if you don't like it for a full refund

    Edit: He more than likely wont get caught but I wouldn't take my chances, you can get Halo for PC for very cheap now.
