Question on my felony charge

alright i am 17 in texas and ive been arrested for theft of property over $1500 and under $2000 ( the amount was $5000) and this was my first offense. i know ill get probation but what else could i get? and i know i can get it expunged or w/e cuz im not 18. im about to go to the pre trial sentence or w/e

  1. You also might get community service.I was in court and this younger girl was before me,and she had stolen something and she got community service.I think when you steal,they want the person to give back to the community some how.That's what it seems like anyway.


  2. tkahrs is wrong in that you can get crimes expunged sometimes if you are over the age of 18, provided you pay the fines and do your community service and don't get in trouble for a set amount of time.

    the only thing that might stop you though is that it's a felony. those do not go away. i'm not sure whether or not they're charging you as an adult but they probably will since you're close to 18, in which case it will be on your record permanently. hope it was worth it.

  3. you need an attorney who will answer all your questions.  how would you feel if someone stole your property??  you need to grow up get a job and contribute to a productive society !!  i have no empathy or sympathy for you  

  4. Sorry but you could be held financially responsible and have to pay restitution.  Probation will continue as long as you make timely payments.  Late with payment and jail time for you.  You will not be able to get that expunged, you are not being charged as a juvenile
