Question on storing bacon fat

if i am going to store bacon grease long term in the fridge do i need to strain out the little bacon bits? if so what is the best way to do that. thanks!

  1. No, don't strain it. That's flavor. Tiny bacon pieces.

    Pour it into a jar, let cool to setting up, cover and put in the fridge forever.

    I have never had it spoil.

  2. i would drain it through cheese cloth or a really smalled hole strainer, make sure you put it in a airtight container  

  3. Nah, you don't have to.  But store it in an old glass jar because it will ruin your plastic stuff.  If you want to strain it, do it through a fine mesh sieve, the paper towel method is just too messy!
