I seem to have only ONE overcrowded tooth. I wonder if braces are required for that or only a retainer. What would be the best thing to do? Any information would do great thank you.

  1. The only one who will really know is your dentist. Even if you have one overcrowded tooth, it's possible that it may be best if its removed. If you get braces, they have to remove some teeth anyways so it might be that overcrowded tooth. Retainers are only going to keep your teeth the same spot because they retain hence, retainers. So those aren't really going to do much. Go to a dentist and get that removed or checked out because only they'll know what's best, not random people like myself on yahoo answers. Unless a dentist answers this question. Good luck though !

  2. Perhaps just a plate, or a retainer. I doubt braces for one tooth.

But that may not be all you have, be sure to ask a dentist, there might be other problems you are unaware of.

  3. Retainers only do what they sound like... retain the shape of your teeth. They are used after braces so that they can maintain this new healthy shape.

Braces of some sort are probably required but most likely not a full set. Invisalign express can probably fix it in 3-5 months. Talk to your orthodontist.
