Question on the 360's Red rings of death (lot of text plez bear with me)?

hi all could you answer my question on it please? Sorry about all this text but could you please read it?

Ok basically about 4 months ago I started getting this red omen on the front of my console, but the weird thing is my XB still works.

The first time this happened was when I took the hard-drive out of my XB for the first time so I could take it round my mates house. When I turned my XB I was horrified to find I had the RROD!

Luckily for me I managed to get it working after about 30mins. The HDD wasn't properly inserted so after pushing down on the hard-drive while it was in the console I was relieved to find my XB came back from the dead :)

But now for my main question, should I consider getting a new XB? Did these rrod mean something bad was going to go down? Or was it just the HDD not pushed in properly?

Should I be getting a new XB soon? Or will my XB survive for another year or 2?

I would be like so appriciative if you guys and gals could help me. pretty please?

Might check the manufacturer's site under Support and see if they have any diagnostic tool you could use.
