Question on tongue piercing?

The skin that is connected to my tongue comes out about a half inch before the tip of my tongue. I was wondering if anyone has had their tongue pierced a little to the side but still in the middle of your tongue (next to the skin thats connected to your tongue)??

I don't think the piercer would approve of it like that...they would probably have to put it closer to the front of your tongue.
