Question on trains/jobs?

what are redcaps (I think they have to do with something like working on trains). What are pullman porters (I think they also have to do with something like working on trains.

The Red Caps assist passengers with their luggage. when boarding or detraining.

"Pullman" porters' duties are/were found in the sleeper coaches and those with roomettes. Porters are also found in the bar (lounge) car and diner as well.

But, these are by-in-large old terms that are usually not used so much these days.  The term "porter" can be pretty much a catch-all, as referring to those who work on the train outside of the operating aspects.
