Question on voter registration...?

I've been registered to vote in Massachusetts since the day I turned 18. I've since moved two towns over. Do I need to re-register to vote in the town I live in, or does my old voter registration still count? Should I just vote in my old town?

  1. Yes, you need to file a change of address with the office in charge of voter registration. In all likelihood, your polling place will change, too. I moved practically across the street from where I used to live and my polling place changed because the other side of the street is an entirely separate district.

If you vote in your "old" district, that's practically voter fraud because you might not qualify to vote in that district anymore.

If you go to your "old" district, they will PROBABLY ask if your address is still the same (they do that where I live).

  2. You should update your address with the local registrar of voters. You can probably do it at the post office.

  3. You have to re-register. Anytime you move, even if it is just down the street, you must re-register.
