I have a question. I had a Juvenile conviction when I was 13(Minor felony). Obviously upon my 18th b-day it is going to be off my civilian record(Although colleges, employers, and local law enforcement cannot find it). Well anyways my AF recruiter just told me to pretend like it never happend. In other words lie at MEPS and boot camp. I have heard that people have done that before and got busted and charged.

Should I do as the recruiter says? or should I request to go through the wavier proscess?

P.S My recruiter still wanted a copy of my court documents from which he now has, and sent me to take the ASVAB today.

  1. If you get caught, you can be charged with fraudulent enlistment.  It would be better to go through the waiver process, and it's not that difficult.  Besides, do you really want to start your military career off by lying to get in?  Not the best way to display good morals and values.

  2. They will approve the waiver.  Just be honest!!

  3. recruiters will say ANYTHING to get you to sighn on...my husband's flat out lied allot.

i would tell them anyway...you can get into trouble for not telling them, but if you do then you might not be able to enlist.
