  1. That almost seems excessive, so yes, it's enough.

  2. Under normal water circumstances you needn't change the water that often..

You should remove and re-add about 25 % of the water each week. (I SAID REMOVE) not LET EVAPOTATE, EVATOPATION STILL LEAVES POLLUNTS IN THE TANK

Remove 1 to 1/2 gallons and readd the amount you too out.

Bettas fit right into a community tank with other peaceful fish (neons, guppies, platies, etc.) provided the water flow through the tank is not too strong.

  3. I agree with Soup...it sounds like you are doing a wonderful job!

  4. I also, agree with soup, but..you might want to have a heater in there to keep your betta warm! My last betta was in a small bowl and lived for 3 years! All it had was rocks. But my current betta that I got 2 days ago is in a 2.5 gallon tank with one plant and rocks, but no worries, im getting him a heater today, gravel, plants, and tons of rocks! :)

  5. Your cleaning ruiteen sounds very good.

  6. It should be.  If you have ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate test kits, you could get a definitive answer.  Assuming the tank is cycled, you should have 0 ppm ammonia and nitrite, and you'd only have to do enough water changes a week to keep the nitrates below 20 ppm.  If the tank hasn't cycled yet, plan on doing water changes every few days until the ammonia and nitrite levels zero out.
