1. You really need to get the user manual for that camera. It's always a good idea to mention the make and model of the camera you're using, when you ask a question like this... I might actually be able to give you exact instructions, rather than just some generic idea... or a link to the manual, many are online. Try a search for "user manual" and the name of your camcorder in Google or Yahoo seach, and you might find it.

It could be that your camera has a manual mode, and you're stuck on that in some long exposure setting. There should be a pretty easy way to set the camera up for "full auto".. this is often a switch or dial on the outside of the camera, but could be in the menus as well (this is one reason it's really helpful to know the model).

Another possibility.. some camcorders have an "exposure adjust" setting, or something similar. This is sometimes a menu entry, sometimes a wheel or lever on the outside of the camera. You might dial this up to get around some difficult lighting situation, but in normal lighting situations, it would make everything way too bright.

Another possibility .. you have the camera stuck in a night-vision setting, look for this. Night vision usually involves a physical switch, since it's moving a filter, not just signalling your camera to work differently. Look around for something like that on the camera, not in the setup menus, first.

  2. What sort of camcorder is it - "little one" is a bit too vague!? If it's got a night shooting mode, have you left that on?
