  1. If her employer offers family insurance coverage and you are her dependent and she opts in to the coverage, then yes.

  2. That depends on the employer. If that company is offering family insurance then you may be on the gainer side.

  3. Hi Anne,

It depends on your age.  Most companies allow for coverage of dependents up to a certain age, typically age 18 or 19 years of age.  After that, some plans cover what are called "overage dependents".  The are qualification requirements for being an overage dependent that range from being a full time student (typically 9 to 12 units from an accredited college institution), to being an IRS dependent (meaning your mom can claim you on her tax returns as a dependent).  Some plans require a combination of both of those things.

If you mom does get the job, she'll certainly meet with people to sign up for benefits, and she'll want to ask about what coverage is available on her plan for dependents.  Generally the maximum age for ANY and ALL dependent coverage ends at age 23 or 24, but will vary based upon the plan the employer offers to your mom.

    Good luck!

  4. Most insurance policies would allow a dependent to be covered if you are no older than 18 or are a full-time student.
