  1. i would guess it depends on where you live..  i live in South Carolina and the WIC here used to use Similac but the switched it to Good Start a few years ago, so my son is on Good Start

  2. Similac is included as well as other brands. I did the same thing. The worker made sure I got the already mixed kind just in case.

  3. Wic will supply what ever formula your doctor recommends. It dosnt matter at all. With my first after my son was off formula his doc even put him strictly on pedasure and wic paid for that. So your good to go dont worry.

  4. depends on the state. When I lived in Indiana they used Enfamil and now that I live in Kentucky (not by choice but because of the Army) they use Nestle Good Start.

  5. Every state has a different formula.  It is one of Enfamil, Similac, or Nestle good start.

Don't worry what other people say.  Maybe when he gains more wait or gets used to breastfeeding you can get him back exclusive.  But WIC will definetely help with the formula and they can also help you with lactation help to help you and your baby breastfeed good.

  6. It kinda depends on the state you are in. Some states allow you to choose between a couple of formulas. Others make you use their prefered formula unless you get a doctor to write a note saying your baby needs X formula. In Oklahoma they require you to get Nestle Good Start without a dr's note.

  7. well depending on where you live. some do and some don't i live in tx and they give both similac and enfamil my son is on similac alimentum and i had to get note from his doc and bring it to them than they gave me that kind. i would just contact your local office and ask and since you are also nursing they will give you things as well like milk cheese eggs beans cereal  peanut butter and juice. i am on wic too no shame formula is expensive

  8. our wic office only supplies nestle good start

  9. generally WIC will supply something they feel would be good for the child..(not sure how they determine that though) but if you have a preference, just ask for it.. and more than likely they will put what you prefer on the wic checks as far as formula goes.

  10. our wic office here gives good start unless your doc writes a prescription then they will give you that.

  11. I would call your local wic office, here in philly they're changing from Similac brand to Goodstart starting in Oct.

  12. dont know about that but i am glad youre breast feeding ... my mom use to just add some thin cereal... as the supplement instead of a chemical formula... worked fine for the bunch of us...

  13. It depends on the state you live in.  I live in PA and right now they offer Similac but I just had an appointment to get my new checks and they said they are no longer gonna be under contract with Ross Laboratories (Similac) as of the end of Sept. So starting in October they are offering Nestle Good Start.  I used to get 9 -12.9 oz cans of Similac powder and my October checks are for 10 - 12 oz cans of Good Start powder.

Most states WIC program have a website so I would try searching it on Google and see if you can find their site. It should tell you on there what they offer.

  14. Depends on where you live.  In some areas they do Similac and Isomil in other areas it is Enfamil products.  You would have to call your local WIC office to find out for sure.

  15. they give similac or what your doctor prescribes. i had to get a prescription for neosure.

  16. my wic office in FLORIDA povides nestle good start!
