Question regarding a friend of mine?

My friend's husband recently lost his job. They just moved out of their old home (it was foreclosed by the bank) and into a brand new home in a new development that they are *renting* for $1400 a month. They made this move in May. They are a high expense family that "need" all the whistles and bells in their house with all the latest technology, so him losing his job hasn't stopped them from using those things.

The issue I'm having trouble understanding is the fact that when I asked if he had any luck finding another job yet she replies with "Oh he's not looking for another job right now. He's just enjoying his time off with the kids and I'm selling Creative Memories now." I was blown away! They are $40,000 in debt, they have had one foreclosure on a house and now they are out of income to pay for the expenses in their new home; yet he is not looking for another job? They have two children and she wants two more and right now they are trying to conceive. I know it's not my place to say anything to them, but I am still blown away at the fact that her husband isn't even trying to find a new job. What do you think of this? If you were me would you say how you felt, or keep to yourself and just pray for the family?

I'm already praying for them, don't get me wrong. And I'm willing to be supportive to them, but I don't see why her husband is not even looking for a new job yet with all the expenses they have.

  1. Unless they are using government resources, stay out of it. I would say something if the family was on food stamps and medicaid! That would mean your hard earned money is going to support their laziness.  But, if they are comfortable living how they are, let it be.

  2. Praying is the best action to take ever.  From the description, it is mind blowing.  By their reaction, they sound confident that things will be better.  But just in case they panic, be kind to them in their time of need.
