So im taking several online classes for a degree. Week 10 starts this week, however the teacher has only marked upto week 2. The teacher keeps saying that they will mark this week, this week, and the teacher never does.

What should I do, turn them in or give them another chance?

  1. If you have proof (e.g. 2 or more emails to your teacher) requesting grades, and these requests have been ignored, then contact the department chair.  Ask the chair what your next step should be in receiving grades (although technically you've just made the next step, but you're doing it in a subtle way).

If you don't have any proof, then you need to establish it by formally asking for the last 7 weeks' of grades.  You're creating a paper trail, so to speak, which you can then take to a higher authority.

Also point out that feedback on a student's performance, if it is to be effective, needs to be timely.  Your teacher is not being timely, and getting 8 weeks of grades dumped on you doesn't help.  Also, you must be getting towards the end of the class, no?  When does this person plan on giving you an idea of how you're doing??
