Question regarding issue with my ear? Could it be a wax issue?

About a month ago I saw an ENT due to what I thought was water in my ear or an ear infection. I started getting stuffy feeling and vertigo symptoms. The DR. apparently removed a huge amount of wax and told me not to use q-tips. Well here I am a month later with same symptoms. I got a little plastic wax removal tool from Walgreens as well as one of the recommened ear wax removal product with an ear bulb to wash it out as well. This is day 2 of using the product. The plastic removal tool didn't produce any results. The oil based wash and ear bulb has not cause anything to come out either. Any thoughts on what else I can do or what this might be? I have not been swimming or gotten any water in my ear. I am due to go back to the dr on the 18th for unrelated issue. But don't think I can wait that long due to this ear. They are booked until then. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I do not have pain or swelling like an ear infection. Just the stuff and vertigo'ish' symptoms. I have no history or ear issues or vertigo.

  1. Docs right. Don't use Q-tips. They push more wax in deeper than they help to take out. Perhaps the ear solution and bulb syringe are not working very well because of the lack of pressure of the liquid being forced into your ear. I had to have my ears irrigated once and the pressure from the water they were shooting into my ears was almost painful. But you would be surprised how much wax came out.

The ear cones/candles work very well. And I have also found them to be pretty soothing. Good luck.

  2. You could go to a health food store and get an earwax candle.  They are very easy to use with help, you stick one end in and light the other, it draws out the wax into the hollow candle.  I do this once a month to help with my sinuses, I find that it helps.  Good luck!

  3. try laying your head on your bed and poor some hydrogen-peroxide in you ear.  then you can use the bulb to flush it out.

  4. u should not use q tip.it pushes the wet wax in more, then it hardens with rough edges, the being able to puncture ur eardrums.

ask about other another cleaner, idk the name, but i use it and its very useful.its is made up of a soft metal and looks lik a minature soup ladel.about 3 to 4 inches in length.

  5. Clean your ears with Q-tips.. and go swimming cuz it really does clean your ears out.

  6. i had that too! i thought there was water in my ear and then told my mom and she said she had that to and she went to the doctor and told her it was just a lot of wax

  7. I have that experience before. My doctor told me not to attempt to get the wax out myself. It would make it worse. I obeyed.

  8. I have the same problems after you try the peroxide put some warm sweet oil in your ear with a small piece of cotton and lay on a heating pad for a couple hours then rinse it out with a heavy shower spray of warm water in the shower.
