Question regarding sociology?

Can someone please tell me how structural functionalism relates to human social behavior? How was Comte involved with this? Just a little confused, my book doesn't give much detail. Thanks :o)

Comte was probably the first guy to propose the idea of functionalism - that society is made up of different 'functions' to form a complete society.

Structural Functionalism builds upon this idea, and argues that every aspect of human lives is the result of structural institutions.
