Question regarding the air conditioner in my car?

when i turn on my air conditioner i hear a click (just one click) under my hood and when i turn it off i hear another click. whats that all about? is it a problem?

  1. As the man says it is the clutch on a/c compressor, and it is not a problem, (unless you don't hear it, -- then the a/c won't cool)!

    If you listen closely, and car is quiet enough - or idling slow enough, you will hear it occasionally when using car too!t


  2. That is the a/c clutch. It is normal.

  3. As long as the A/C's working, it's not a problem.


  4. As long as the A/C blows cold its just the A/C clutch kicking in like the guy before me said.


  5. I don't think its a problem at all. I own 2 recent model Chevrolet's and they both do the exact same thing. I know that an electrical relay will do that same sound, and I am wanting to say that your wiring diagram for your vehicle's Air Conditioning system should have an AC relay.
