Yesterday, my lower right wisdom tooth was removed. I am on antibiotics, and pain medication, so I haven't noticed any complications. However, I examined the area with my mirror and discovered that a large piece of gum is growing on top of the back molar. I'm so concerned because I know food and bacteria can get trapped in that area.
My question is, why is this happening? Why has that flap formed? I do not want to get angry with the dentist office, but I will be calling bright and early on Monday to find out why the gum flap has formed over my molar.
I am hoping that someone can respond and let me know if this is normal? I did have stitches, but the stitchess are more or less on the side of my gum and not in the back area. I'm not sure why this is, but I guess he found it easier to cut the side gum since the wisdom tooth grew in sideways??
Please let me know if you had your lower wisdom tooth taken out and now have a gum flat over a molar.
After my procedure the office didn't make a second appointment..but you'd think they would have since clearly the doctor knows what he did, and he SHOULD know that I can't have gum growing on my last molar tooth.
I'm so annoyed and distressed. More than likely I will have to come in and have the gum flap removed.
