Question:

Question reguarding speeding ticket?

I got a speeding ticket... 64 in a 35...

It will be a 6 point violation. The court date was the 10th of July. I was deciding whether I should go or not and decided I would just send in my guilty plea, because after all, I was guilty.

I sent in the plea the 9th of June (Wednesday).

Today I got a letter from the court (dated Thursday the 10th) saying "Before the court accepts your plea of Guilty we feel you should be made aware of the fact that it is a 6 point violation and the matter has been adjourned to July 24th"

Question is, did they receive my guilty plea and then send this to me or did they send this before my plea was received? Do I go to this date or is it too late after sending in the guilty plea?

I ask because I had to have sent in my plea by the 10th or show up in person and this wasn't sent until the day my response was due.

Thank you

  1. The court is trying to help you out by telling the the points are high.  By appearing in court, the charge may be reduced, or there may be an option of lowering the points.

  2. I think the deadline was extended. They sent it prior to recieving your plea. You will get confirmation in the mail before the 24th explaining your plea.
