    3) I pray again that God will help me remember His Word throughout the day

I don't always do it this way, but I think it is a good way to do it.

    4) do a study on one of the books to do on your own (the first one I did was 1 Corinthians)

  8. 1) its a book

    2) read it

    3) question it against logic provided by hard facts.

  9. I think it is productive to study it from the perspective of themes that are relevant to your life.  For example, if you recognize that you have a problem with anger, study what the bible says about anger (and about controlling it).

    Steps...

    1. Pray about it...ask God to lead you to what he would have you learn.

    2. Think about your struggles and your questions about God and identify key words (e.g., "faith", "anger", "revenge", "loneliness", whatever).

    3. Use an online bible resource to search for key words...and see if you can find some sermon notes or Web sites that address your topic.

    4. Read the relevant verses in the bible and consider the other information you found.

    5. Write down your thoughts in a journal...focus especially on concrete behaviors/actions you can start doing.

    6. Pray and ask God to reveal the truth to you...

    7. Revisit your thoughts in your journal from time to time and note how your original perception has changed as a result of your experiences since you started doing something new.

  10. 1. Start studying by reading about what interests you. Such as women in the Bible - then look up women who have major stories, such as Ruth, Hannah, Esther. Or, choose topics, for example, marriage.

    2. Start by reading a particular section of the Bible. Maybe you want to read about King Saul's reign. Read about that. Maybe you'd like to read all of Paul's letters. Read Romans - 2 Peter.

    3. Study by taking different areas of your life that you would like answers to. Write down and memorize scriptures. For example, one week it might be anger; forgiveness; persistence; friendship; discouragement; wisdom, etc.

Studying this way has helped me, since reading the Bible chronologically doesn't always work well for most people. It's much easier to synthesize and "get" the Bible when working in the real life examples and by reading about your own personal "hot buttons". Be blessed.

  11. 1. Take bible

  12. 1) Who are the writers writting to at the time they are writting it?

    2) What is the writer saying (in context)

    3) What is the application of what you are studying to your life today?

    4) Is what you are reading cultural (may not be relevent to today) or is it wisdom that fits in no matter what the culture or generation?

  13. 1) read and summarise.

    2) ask others if you don;t understand it.

    3)assosicate with prayer
