  1. My dads a doctor and i think he's like 48 or something (he's not home right now so i can't ask)

I think he was 34 when i was born.

He makes like $300 for each baby delivered or something + from his office.  Im guessing somewhere around the high hundred thousands or low millions.

Works all day mostly, he's sometimes home

    He's an ob/gyn

We have 5 bedrooms which are pretty big.  Mine is the 2nd smallest room which is about 20ft x 30ft

Currently, he drives a honda civic hybrid (to save gas and get that carpool sticker i guess) but he has a mercedes too and a honda odyssey.

  2. Why are you curious? I am curious why you want to know! :-)

One of my dear friends is an ob/gyn. She's about 45. They have 2 kids. One is 10 and one is 6.  Don't know how much she makes.

She does work a lot of hours and it is usually more than 40. She's on call so some nights she's at the hospital delivering babies. They have a nice 2 story house... living room, dining room, foyer, 1/2 bath, kitchen, sunroom, family room, 3 bedrooms with 2 full baths upstairs. The room over their garage is finished and is a wreck room/play room.

They have an SUV for the family, and a newer car for her. She just got it after their other car had major engine problems. They are not extravagent people. He is a school social worker so they both make quite a bit of money. We were friends for like 6 months through church and our daughters before I ever knew she was a ob/gyn! In fact I had had her come to my house for a party before I knew that and then panicked thinking OMG I had a DR in my HOUSE! But she's so not like that! She is now my dr. and  she just so normal!

  3. how old are they? 45

how old were they when they had you(or the person you know)? 35

how much do they make? $2000 a week

how much do they work? 6 days a week, 12 hour days, + on call

what kind of doctor are they? orthopeadic specialist

how many bedrooms do you/they have in your house? 4

what kind of cars do they drive? Mercedes - but he never drives them, his wife does

I would never be a doctor. I want a social life! Being a doctor is VERY hard on family life.

I work with doctors. From the newly graduated to the specialists. I know how much it affects their family and their life. And I know how hard they work for their money.

I personally dont think its worth it. I commend them for their work, but personally, i work in order to live...not live in order to work!

  4. my mums friend is a top ophthalmologist (eye doctor) in the UK

i would guess him to be early 40's

um i met him about 10 years ago if that counts

a HUGE amount , I'm not sure but must be over 100k a year

he works a fair amount lol I'm not sure.

he has a 2 houses i think , one in london with 4 bedrooms and one in a cute village up north with 3 ( all double bedrooms )

he has a couple , ones an old banger and the other is a s**y jag =]

my mum has a Phd from durham university

so shes a doctor of philosophy in history

    my mum was 31

    i think my mum is on 50k - 60k a year

she works about 4 days out of a week, sometimes more

we have 5 bedrooms in our house

my mum has a land rover (a few years old now) and a VW golf and she just ordered herself a new mini =]

a few more of my mum academic freinds have Doctorates there salaries range from 30k to 70k

most of them own there own homes , with a few bedrooms, most of the academic types dont work very much only when the students are in town =] and most of them own large family cars and 2 of them dont drive =]

btw this is all in english pounds

  5. lol, you are quite nosy about some questions. becoming a dr is quite  hard work so i think they deserve the things they afford.  which i mean they do well and if they specialize in something they would do very well...i'd say a 3-4 bedroom type lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. My old boss' (who is also a good friend of mine)  wife is a doctor.  She is in her 30's, she has three kids her oldest is 15 (she had her young but still went on to school.)  I dont know how much she makes, its not my business.  She works about 60 hours a week I think.  She is a Family Physician.  They have a 3 bedroom home (the 2 and the 6 year old share and the oldest has her own room) They dont believe in buying big flashy things if not needed.  She drives a SUV and he drives something simple, I think a Chrysler.
