Question:

Question to users of the Clearblue fertility monitor...

I have a clearblue fertility monitor and it asks me to test my urine from day 9 of my cycle......as I know that I usually ovulate around day 16-19 would it still show the correct status (ie, low, med, peak) if I ignored the request for a test from day 9-13 and started testing on day 14?

Asking because the sticks aren't cheap and it seems a bit pointless testing from day 9 when I know full well I'm not ovulating - but not sure if you have to in order to get a correct reading on the 'good' days.

thanks all, sorry if my question is confusing!

  1. I think you shoudl still be okay.  But you should test everyday that it asks you to because it stores all your information - all the varying levels of hormones, etc. in yoru urine everyday - so that it can give you an accurate reading of when you are fertile.  That's why fertility monitor costs so much more than the OPKs.  Because it lets you know 5-6 days earlier when you will be fertile rather than the OPKs only giving you about 1 day's notice.  So you really should do the urine test every day is requests in order to get the most accurate results for the money you spent.  Also, you have checked out eBay for test sticks?  You can find them alot cheaper than in teh store - just be sure that they aren't expired.
