be nice if we could go back to horses. using fuel for somethings is nice like planes but, if everyone rode horses everywhere it will help the enviroment

Well, you can blame United States government for that. Supply and demand is at a all time high cause we continue to multiply faster than any animal on earth. Think it's time to drill oil and use our reserves on our own land instead of using so much foreign oil from other countries. It cost alot of money to export the oil here too. Another thing that our government needs to look at is birth control. Some women don't won't their new born child after having it and this can be handled by our government that can allow funding for surgery for women who want to have themselves fix and don't won't children. The government could even fund my invention, if they would called "Dynamic Generated Electric Power Plants" that uses no oil, gas and can power any car or house. Instead, all the tax money is going into "War".

Simple answer: Record oil prices. Oil hit somewhere upwards of $119/bbl yesterday. Plus, summer blend fuel has switched over which is more expensive than winter blend because of additives in the fuel.
