Hi, Im currently on a plan with Bell Canada for an Xbox 360, Total performance High Speed Internet, and Bell Home Phone Lite. for around 80.00/month for 3 years. My question is, in the next month or so I will be moving to an area that does not have High speed capability. Will they make me pay for the high speed even though I dont have it, or will they force the cancellation fee upon me, even though i dont want to cancel? Hopefully someone here will know, i dont feel like waiting an hour on hold with bell. thanks in advance

  1. Stand your ground.  If THEY don't offer the service there, INSIST that you are not penalized.  Chances are you don't have to worry about it anyways.  Unless the plan you signed up for specifically discusses this scenario, chances are you will be in the right in being outraged if they try to charge you a fee.  Talk to the manager if needed, explain you don't think it's right.  If you insist, there's a good chance they'll waive the fee, if there is one.  I am NOT a fan of Bell Canada or their customer service practices, but at least with a big company like that they can afford to concede to a complaining customer.  So if it doesn't seem right to you, make sure they know it.

  2. I think it just depends on the customer service rep you speak with. Crazy, I know. I have family up there with Bell who had high speed and moved into an area where it wasn't available and were charged the early termination fee. Bell stated it wasn't their fault that the customer was moving. I also have family who were in the same position but were not charged the fee because it was Bell who couldn't provide THEM with the service. It's a flip of the coin.
