Question with mileage and money for gas?

Okay, so our teacher gave us an equation that I think is wrong.

Her car gets 20 mpg.

Gas is $4 (just rounded it to that.)

She wants to go 178.42 miles.

How much would she have to pay (assuming that she has a tank dry to the bone) to go that far?

178.42 / 20 = 8.921

8.921 x $4.00 = $35.684

So on 4 dollar a gallon gas she would pay $35.69
