Questioning integrity of Punjab players will be disappointing, says David Hussey - Cricket News Update
The stand-in captain of the Punjab based IPL franchise, Kings XI Punjab, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380, on Tuesday insisted that every player on KXIP roster plays with utmost integrity and allegedly involving them into corrupt practices will be “very
disappointing”.
A Hindi News channel on Monday showed video footage of a little-known domestic Indian player, TP Sudhindra, bowling a big no-ball in a domestic one-day match in Indore last year. The channel also played a recording of a conversation
in which Sudhindra, who plays for Deccan Chargers in the IPL, is negotiating a fee to deliver the no-ball.
The Channel named five players for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices. Those include http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srivastava-c90841 and Yadav, are representing
Kings XI Punjab in the ongoing season five of the lucrative Indian Premier League, while Mishra plays for Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and Sudhindra is a Deccan medium-pacer.
However, David Hussey – standing in for compatriot http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Gilchrist-c918, who is recovering from a hamstring injury – said that all of his players play with the “utmost integrity” and it would be very disappointing if the media or anybody
else puts a question mark on their commitment.
"Everyone in my team, everyone in Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 as a brand plays with utmost integrity and if any print or TV media tries to write differently or say something differently about my team, then I will be very disappointed. I can't
really comment on the sting," said Hussey while speaking to the media reporters after his side’s five-wicket loss to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils in a crucial IPL-V match.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday suspended all of the five players with immediate effect, after a teleconference with IPL's Governing Council. The BCCI vice-president, Rajeev Shukla, said that further action will
be taken based on the findings of the inquiry committee formed to probe into the matter.
"The IPL Governing Council met on teleconference today at 2:30 pm and they recommended to the BCCI president [N http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srinivasan-c90829] for strict action against those players who were found guilty and found suspicious on the television footage
shown on India TV,” said Shukla speaking to the media reporters.
Mr http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 ACSU, will conduct the probe and submit a report to the Disciplinary Committee, which will be made public in 15 to 20 days, Shukla revealed.
