Question:

Questions about Budgies?

I just got 2 budgies yesterday and so far, they aren't scared of me when I put my hands in.

They are 4 weeks old and I was just wondering what I could do with them at their age right now?

Also, I am using a large white shopping bag to cover them at night so they can sleep, is that good or bad?

They won't go on my finger, I don't know why and how do I make my budgie trust me and be happy with me?

  1. right know they are to young to do anything with, give them a couple of weeks put finger in front of feet and say step up.

keep doing this and they will step up.

DONT EVER COVER A BIRD WITH A BAG,use a bed sheet.

    give them fruit and greens.

  2. lol budiges are easy tame check out http://www.parrotcentral.net/how_to_tame...  for tips on how to train a budgie

  3. I've got three budgies. The mother and her two son's. Ever heard stories about seperating the mother from the kids as she'll attack them, well that's a load of bs.

As to your question, there only 2 budgies so should be easy to tame. Just keep putting you hand in the cage and they'll get use to your hand and know that your no threat.

Don't use a shopping bag, use a bed sheet or something! It will eventually go onto your finger, it's still a baby!

Beware though, when they grow older their bickering will give you a head ache!

  4. Have you cliped there wings? If so, take one out of the cage and begin training. Take the other one outwhen your done with the first one.

Heres some training at taming sites-

    this is the best one-

After taming and training you budgie should learn to trust you.
