Question:

Questions about DDWRT?

I have various hotspots in my neighborhood and was thinking of putting a linksys router on my wifi dish. My dish is mounted on a programmable TV rotor which I eventually want to mount on the roof. I would first like to know how user friendly the DDWRT firmware is. I.E. my goal is to simply rid my PC of the antenna coax (allowing me more freedom as to where I put the PC and possibly ridding myself of signal loss) and mounting the router directly on the dish. Am wondering firstly, will a wireless PC have full control of the router?....secondly, will I easily be able to pick and choose which connection I want to use without having to go thru a ritual with the software? I wont be using the POE if that clears anything up.

  1. If you know your way in Linux then it won't be a problem. First make sure it will work with your set-up and then configure it step by step. You'll find many tutorials on their website and in their forums.

As for your second question the answer is yes.
