Questions about Guitar?

Question

I have an electric guitar, and I just had my for first lesson today, i learned E, F, and G. He also showed me random note groupings to help me understand and to recognize those notes. So I was wondering if theres any songs I can play yet? And also he said I can go ahead if I want but its discouraged...If I do go ahead what should I learn first. I dont really want to go ahead so it would be better if you tell me songs I can play already, but also tell me what I should learn next.

learn power cords then u can play lots of songs. if u read tab they go like this

E|-----------------

B|-----------------

G|-----------------

D|-5-7-9-7-2-5-

A|-5-7-9-7-2-5-

E|-3-5-7-5-0-3-

you play eny note with your first finger then with your third and fourth finger go 2 frets over on the 2 strings below the string your first finger is on. but for biginers u can just play the first 2 notes.

The next best thing is to practice your fingers on the fretboard which i think your tutor can tell you what to do. But if you have done this exercises i suggest you play some songs. Anyway...you can play a lot of half-a-songs. You'll need the other half. Learn the C, A, and D chords, and you'll be off and running.

hmm...nope, not thinking of any song that uses just the E, F, and G.
