Questions about Hernia Surgery?

I'm having hernia Surgery in the upcoming weeks and was wondering if you all who've have had this surgery before could post how the surgery went for you: prep, any complications, and overall recovery days/weeks?

  1. Surgery went fine, afterward it'll be fairly sore, so you won't wanna strain yourself for a couple weeks.

  2. I wish you would have went into more detail, like where is the hernia, is it going to be repaired microscopically or a large cut. You are better off getting the cut, they can do more to secure the area and the hernia. I have had a double hernia repair just above my naval button. That one hurt some, but you can live with it. I also had a hernia in the right side groin area. Pain was very tolerable, but everything swelled, and I mean everything, but that was normal and it went back to normal in about a week. So it really depends on the surgeon, where it is located and which way did the surgeon do it. Microscopic is a breeze, with hardly any pain, my brother had that done. Again depending on where and how you are cut, it should heal in about two to three weeks. You will have to restrict stretching or lifting for quite some time. So good luck to you, hope you have a low complicated surgery.
