I want to get into Med for college when I graduate and I need to know, what are the usual requirements ?

Requirements such as certain mathematical courses.

I do tend ( Student selection is the lottery system or so I have heard)

to go to a high school with a med sci magnet. The high school is

called Coral Reef Senior High, so tell me if I am incorrect. thank you

What exactly is pre-med?

I got confused..do you take a year of med in a different college (as an undergraduate course and then take the mcat and try to get into the same or a different college for a "graduate course"? )

And if a college requires you to take a math course during one of the years in college, but you have taken it in highschool, you don't have to take it again do you?

If there is additional information you would like to tell my way-too-curious head, feel free to do so.

  1. "pre med" simply refers to the course of study that will prepare you to apply for medical school, and of course, it does not guarantee you a seat in a medical class, you must make application, take and do well on the mcat, and have excellent grades and references-then, you may not be accepted, as there are about 15000 seats in the US and Canada, and usually in excess of 100,000 application.  not all colleges and university's have a medical school, so you have to pick the one you will want to apply to, although, you will in reality be advised to apply to several different ones...med school is like a 'grad course' except it is a professional degree program, and is much more involved than any grad program you may imagine, as it should be, as you will be dealing with patients lives...I suggest that you go online to a university, such as USC and access their requirements for admission to medical school, that will give you an idea of what courses you should concentrate on... god luck, by the way, while a degree is advisable, it is not required for admission, only the required courses..good luck.
