Question:

Questions about Pinochet's Chile

I've heard Chile under Pinochet was one of the most (economically) libertarian countries to ever exist. But I was wondering, to what extent? Did the citizens of Chile pay taxes? Were there public roads, schools, fire and police departments? Or was all this liberality only in regards to corporate regulation?

  1. "Liberal" (in any form) was not a word used in the same sentence with "Pinochet" except he tortured liberals and made them disappear.

  2. Corporate regulation.

    Stability.

    Pro AMERICAN.

  3. Actually, Pinochet's regime was massively anti-libertarian. It massacred dissidents and union organizers.
