Questions about Rhodes...?

My family and I are going to Rhodes in July, and will stay for the month. We are staying in the faliraki/kathara bay area, and I was wondering what kind of stuff a 16 year old girl should be expecting there. Is it safe for me to go out alone? Where's the best place to go to meet people? Is it humid, or just lots of sunshine? I won't have problems communicating, since I'm greek and speak the language quite fluently, but are there more greeks on the island, or is it more touristy? I just need to know what to expect. Thank you so much!

Been to Rhodes twice. Beautiful place - will be very warm when you are there. Loads for you to do - there's actually a brilliant water park at Faliraki. There's also loads of water sports and wonderful beaches to explore. I think as a 16 year old you will have loads of fun - there's a good atmosphere - and if you like shopping - you'll find that great too. Get someone to take you to 7 springs as well - you've got to walk down the tunnel there - it's an experience!!!! If you do like a bit of history too - it's just everywhere - but it's so much better in the sunshine!!

I can't tell you much because when I was 16 and I was in Greece I was doing things 16-yr old girls shouldn't do.

Greece is one of the safest in all of the world, so you never have to worry but there is always a small chance of anything anywhere so keep caution - be smart.

Bright and warm, full of ancient sites (not that you are that borthered), glorious beaches, happy party atmosphere, but lets be honest, is any where really taht safe for a 16 year old out alone at night.....No is the answer...have fun stay with your family, go where they go untill you are 100 per cent trusting of the people you meet..

The island of Rhodes is full of divine beaches but Faliraki is certainly one of the best boasting a 3 mile golden beach. It's quite touristy  but it caters for every taste. There are all sorts of water sports, beach volley tournaments - that's fun ! There are also many cafes, fast food outlets and tavernas as well as international restaurants and pubs  There are fabulous clubs - many of them are open air and you can even dance on the sandy beach. In July-August it's got about 27-30* Celsius, it;s mostly sunny and hardly ever humid.

However, it's definitely NOT safe for a 16 year old girl to hang around Faliraki alone - especially at night. Unfortunately many tourists get drunk ! Stay with your parents, go out with them and I'm sure you will have a super holiday. Filakia !!!

Well,it would sound silly if I told you that it is safe to walk around all by yourself especially because you are a girl and especially late at night.This is a fact in any town or country. But you are going for holidays and you would not like to spend it only with your parents.Besides, you are not too young to recognize the dangers.Meet new people but just be careful because you never know.You will find local people there that are very friendly and I am sure you will have a great time there.
