Question:

Questions about Texas unemployment benefits?

Currently, I have the unemployment benefits for Texas. I might get offered a job. They would use a 30 day trial period. If I get the job and after a few weeks or a month it doesn't work out, and they let me go, can I re-apply and obtain benefits?

  1. When you file your initial claim, you establish your benefit year.  Any time you become unemployed during the following 12 months, they simply re-open the same claim, based on the reason for the new unemployment.  You do not have the "waiting week" again.
