I need a new phone and am really looking into verizon. right now i have a pre paid crappy phone that I'm sick of, and am in the process of convincing my parents to do this. i send around 500 texts a month. and probably 99.9% are to verizon customers. i rarely call people, and if i do no more than 5 minutes long.

which plan would be best for me, and how much would it cost??

  1. You say you send about 500 text messages a month but how many do you receive?  Remember when you receive text it counts against your plan.

Verizon has several plans to choose from.  They are as follows:

    $5.00 a month - 250 text/pix/flix sent & received - no "IN" Texting

$10 a month - 500 text/pix/flix sent & received, unlimited "IN" texting to all Verizon customers.

$15 a month - 1500 text/pix/flix sent & received, unlimited "IN" texting to all Verizon customers.

$20 a month - 5000 text/pix/flix sent & received, unlimited "IN" texting to all Verizon customers.

$20 a month - unlimited text/pix/flix for an individual on the Nationwide calling plan.

$30 a month - unlimited text/pix/flix for a family plan on the Nationwide calling plan.

Unlimited "IN" texting means you can text, send pictures or videos to any Verizon customer and it will not pull away from your monthly allowance.

The current calling plan that Verizon offers is called Nationwide which with this plan you can pay for unlimited texting (on the old plans such as America's Choice unlimited texting was not available).  For an individual plan it is $20 a month and for a family plan it would be $30 a month.

It's difficult to say which would be the best for you.  Honestly though if you're going to opt for the 5000 text a month you might as well pay the same price and make it unlimited if you are on an individual plan.

Hope this helps!  And good luck!
