Questions about Visas, Invitations, and Green Cards!?

I have a friend in Bulgaria who wants to come visit me for a few months and even possibly move to the US. I know it would be a lot easier if I were to send an invintation to the embassy but I have no idea where to start. I know about tourist visas, work visas, etc.. Which one is easier to get? What's the process like? How long does it take? What's the process of getting a Green Card? All advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  1. The simplest thing to do is have your friend apply for a B1/B2 non-immigrant visa for tourism at the US Embassy Sofia.  You may write a letter of invitation if you wish, however, while it won't hurt your friend's chances, it won't necessarily help.

  2. Send an invitation letter to your friend in Bulgaria and request her to present said letter to the US embassy for a tourist visa.
