Alright so I love to act, and I know it will take hard work and dedication. The only thing is I have thousands of questions, can someone please answer all of them or even some will help, thanks!

1. My parents don't know a lot about the industry, is that bad? Or should I just wait to persue my dream because they don't know anything about it.

2. What is the best age to start?

3. Should money be a concern? (Plane tickets, etc)

4. Should I be concered about having enough time? (I'm into sports, which i easily don't have to play, but my parents only get so many days off of work)

5. Should school be an issue? (should I wait to finish or what?)

6. I know a lot about acting but there is still more to learn, can anyone give me tips, or just extra info to help me persue my dream.

Thanks!

  1. hello!

    1. No, it's not bad that your parents don't know much about the industry. In fact most parents don't. The only thing I advise is for them to make sure they know what they are signing and think it through before doing so.

    2. There's no age limit or minimum wheter you're 5 or 25 it doesn't matter as long as you have talent.

    3. When it comes to auditions and stuff like that yes. I believe talent agencies don't cover transportation costs.

    4. As when it comes to time as long as you manage it well then you should be fine, but this industry is very time consuming. Most people just pretty much live and breathe for it.

    5. The best thing is to finish school and always have a backup. A job in this business is never guaranteed therefore it's  always best to have a backup.

    6. Audition for anything and everything you can! Sometimes just that experience is enough and the best lesson in itself wheter you get the job or not.  Just don't give up! Just remember that many of todays biggest didn't get the job on the first try.

  2. I'm just starting out as you are, I hope this helps.

    2.  Any age is good! I've read of people who started acting in their 30's & 40's and found success.   You should start out in school plays, if not, you can always starting taking acting classes in college.

3.Money is a concern.  Be aware that you may start out going from audition to audition without earning any money.  You should start out locally, finding castings in your area, print modeling, small theater groups, etc.

    5.  Finish school! That's very important.   You should even go to college JIC your acting career doesn't take off.

    6.  My advice is:  Don't give up!  Most people will tell you that you'll never make it, but people said the same thing to very famous actors.  Do it because you love it, and don't ever stop learning.
