  1. Depends on who you go through and what your expectations are.  Local county adoptions are usually free and the length really depends on each case including how long the child has been up for adoption and the parents rights are taken away.  If you go through an agency you need to do your research and talk to other people who have adopted to make sure the agency is a good one.  Private agencies can be very expensive and some can take awhile to get through the process while others will speed things along pretty fast.  It will depend on if you want open or closed adoption and how the agency works.  If you know a good lawyer that handles adoptions then you can have a private attorney act on your behalf and they can do research for you.  A lot will depend on if you are looking for a newborn or an older child and what race/nationality you are looking for.  It can be a very complicated process but well worth it in my opinion.

  2. The process really depends on how far you are planning on going to adopt. I am from Russia and i live in the US now. It took my parnets 8-9 months to get me.

It cost around 16 thousand i think with plane and everything.

Asking friends who have adopted or know of people who have adopted children. Search the internet for an agency near you. I recommend finding and agency that does them. I was through an agency and they work fast and, at lest with mine, were extremely friendly.

  3. Hi I work at a crisis pregancy center and woudl love to help you. I to want to adopt a child.

agencys charge 12 to 25 thousand dallors.

just post ads anywhere and every where your allowed to. put an ad in the newspaper. im not kidding. someone will resond and if you both agree all you need is a lawyers signature for a few hundred.dallors.

  4. It all depends on alot of issues. But narrowing down to specifically twin girls could make the process even longer.

  5. Well, to answer your first question, it can be a long process, but much of that depends on which type of adoption you are approaching.  Regardless, you will have to have a "home study" which is a case study conducted by the state that you live in.  These range anywhere from 1800.00 to 5000.00 depending on where you live.  The rest of the cost will be court costs, which will vary according to the type of adoption you choose.  I would begin by finding an adoption attorney in your area.  Because some of these can be money hungry, you might start by contacting local hospital OB floors.......... JUST TO ASK ONLY.... if they have any names of adoption attorneys in the area.  Chances are, if they can give you a name, you will know that it is a reputable person.  I will tell you that your chances of adopting twin girls is virtually impossible.  You will limit your chances by simply picking a gender, or a race.  If I were you, I would be willing to accept any child of any race, and s*x.  Otherwise, you may wait your whole life for this amazing opportunity.  I DO wish you the best, and sometimes, the Lord works in mysterious ways!  I would make sure to mention on your application that you are willing to accept twins.  They may not be girls, but that would give you the best chance!  Good luck, and God bless you for your effort!

  6. 1 - It depends on the situation.  At the very least, you will have to go through a home study (to make sure your are able to care for the children) and then there is often a period of 6 months to a year (depending on the state) between the children being placed with you and the adoption being finalized.   So, count on it being almost a year before the adoption is finalized.

2 - Also depends.  It sounds like you already know the children (perhaps adopting the children of someone you know).  It may be that all you need to do is hire a family attorney and pay any court costs.  Perhaps as little as $1000, if the case is simple and straight forward.  More if there is complexity, such as needing to go to trial.  You may also have to pay for the home study and other expenses, such as getting a physical or travel costs.

3 - If you do know the children already, then talk to an attorney who specializes in Family Law.  If you just want to adopt twin girls (not specific twins) talk to either an adoption agency or your stage agency responsible for Child Protective Services or Fostercare.
