  1. actually no, they can help you die ,yes, but no to depression , the true cure is happiness and just relax, don't think to much, always have a smile =)

  2. Anti-depressants may take a while to help but I think they're OK.Anti-depressants will defiantly help you get through the day.

  3. I had pretty bad depression and the ONLY thing that worked was anti-depressants.  It just took the edge off.  I still felt emotions, but was better able to cope.  I started enjoying life again.  The funny thing was, I didn't realize I was suffering from depression until I was asked if I had it.  Of course I said no.  And then I realized that YES...I was suffering.

  4. I was taking an anti depressant for a while there after I had my daughter.

    I had post partum depression.

Helped me tons and tons!  I didnt have the minor aches and pains, I was feeling consumed or over whelmed.  I wasnt exploding or swinging of the handle at everything and anything....  I felt tons better.

Would be a good idea to talk to your Doctor.  She/He can absolutly answer any questions and help you decide what would really help and be best for you!

Good luck!  I know the feeling of depression, and it is so horrible.  i feel for ya!

  5. anti depressants don't cure the depression.  They take the edge off so you can concentrate more and deal with the things causing the depression.  That is the only cure.  Suck it up and deal with it  I recommend seeing a counselor to help you through it

  6. Were you going to a family doc for your meds?  Sometimes docs that aren't specialized in mental conditions aren't trained enough to recognize the difference between, say, clinical depression and bi-polar disorder.  If you do have bi-polar, taking anti-depressants like Paxil, Zoloft, Lexapro, Celexa or Prozac could actually INTENSIFY your symptoms.  Talk to your doctor, preferably a psychiatrist who can break down what condition you really have, and medicate appropriately.

Good Luck!  I've been dealing with these issues, myself, since adolescence, and after being misdiagnosed for the better part of a decade, I'm finally on mood stabilzers rather than anti-depressants, and I'm doing better than ever before.  I hope the same for you!  ;)

  7. hey, I dont trust anti depresants, i myself have never used them, but I have had a lot of people tell me about them, and for some people they dont work at all...

The BEST cure possible for depression is excersise!

  8. It's an individual thing. I have an anxiety disorder and clinical depression and I take pretty strong antidepressants, and they work wonderfully. However, sometimes it isn't the best option. Try homeopathics, exercise, change of diet, anything you can before trying antidepressants.

  9. Marijuana... but babe it might make it worse 4 u.. it helped me in the begining but then i got social anxiety from smoking weed for 1 year.. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!

  10. You know, I think it really depends on the person. I have Depression at a young age, and it took me a while to find ones that worked. If you're seeing a psychologist, you may want to tell them if they aren't working. But yeah, once you find the right one, I'm pretty sure they help.
