when you first get one, lets say 8 week old, and your raising it in an apartment with no yard, how much stress is involved in raising one? can i just buy a crate 3x2x3, stick him in there when i'm at work (which is about 11 hours per day) let him s**++ in there and eat in there and also teach him to just go s**++ in there for his second bathroom too? that is when i'm gone or asleep and not available to walk him? i'm gonna try to set up 2 potties, indoor, the cage, and outdoor in the grass. Is he going to wake me up at night with wimpering? if he does can I use a cleaned out cage (kennel, s**++ area) as a dungeon to lock him up and then hopefully he settles down? I want this boxer puppy but anxious about the raising of him. I am not sure if I want to walk him more than once per day either. is that ok?

  1. Not to be rude but it sounds like you dont have time for a puppy. They need lots of atterion like a baby. If i were you i would gey more esucated on puppies befor getting one because if you. Realize you dont have tine for it it wll just end up in a shelter. Educate yourself a little more and wait until you have more time for it. Plus a boxer needs. Room to run they are big dogs and needs to be walked more then once a day.

Like i said im not in any way trying to be rude but it sounds like you dont have time for a pup yet because you cant let them poo in their cage and expect them to sleep in it all day while your at work for 11 hrs. Most dogs will not potty where they sleep but still put some more consideration into getting one because if you buy it and you realize you dont have the time for it it will end up in a shelter and possibly getting euthanized because no one will want it.

So please put more though into it.

Hope you make the right decision.

  2. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!

The dog will be soooo lonely and puppies need a LOT of attention when they are still small.

Like potty training, basic watching, chewing things out, etc.

My puppy pooped all over the place WHEN we were watching her! And she chewed through the A/C wires, etc.

    DONT DO THIS, BAD CHOICE

  3. I'm hoping you are being sarcastic or checking to see just how many people will reply with a cruel and mean answer.

No puppy or dog should be left totally alone for more than a few hours.  Judging from your point of view about how to take care of or trap your poor puppy I don't think you should really have one.

Oh you make me very sad.  I just got a puppy and after bringing him home in a carrier, I took the door off and put his favorite blanket in it and left it available for him IF he needed to feel safe.

True I spoil my baby but he has his own room that I stripped down so he couldn't hurt himself.  He also pretty much has run of the house.

Sure it's a bit nerve wracking with the "training" and whining sometimes, but when he plays silly or snuggles my neck, he more than earns my love and patience.

  4. You can't be serious!  Obviously you do not need to get a dog if you are going to leave it in a crate for 11+ hours a day, you should just stick to stuffed animals.

  5. look i have 3 dogs crate should be for punishment and he would sleep in his.. STUFF and it could make him sick no you shouldnt  you need to be with a puppy all the time! its best not to get a puppy at all! because if he gets into trouble he wont understadnc ause the crate is also his bathroom it wouldnt understand

  6. ohh boy first of all 11 hours a day in a crate is far too much . and reading what you said it seems you don't have info on raising a puppy at all. a dog wont sleep where they p**p either. they wont eat there either. you need to walk a dog at least 2 times a day if not more so. yes he will wake you up probably more then once a night. i would say get something you can leave in a cage without much fuss say a  hamster or a goldfish. you work to much and it seems like too much effort to have a puppy at this point. Just my opinion.

  7. um...are you serious? No that is not ok...probably shouldn't own a pet of any kind right now or have kids if this is your idea of a good life for it.
