Questions about card counting?

Ive always liked playing blackjack but ive never really been good at it then i heard about card counting from one of my friends i heard there are different strategies some more complex than others and that depending on what strategy your using one card could equal a number like -1 +1 0 -2 +2 but what exactly do you do with the number once you have it? and which strategies are the best? im pretty confused about it right now but id like to learn about it anyone that give me any info it would be appreciated

All of the card cotning systems work and there is no one BEST system. though some are btter than others when you look at them in a certain way so it depends on what kind of person you are and what your brain is cabable of processing.
