Question:

Questions about connecting flights (NWA to Horizon Air)?

I'm going to be making the following connections: BWI > MSP > SEATAC (NWA) then at SEATAC I will be heading to BC Canada and switching airlines to Horizon air. Will I have to get my bags and re-check them when I switch airlines? Also, will I only be going through Canadian customs?

Anything I should be aware of or advice? This is my first time flying.

  1. Check with both Northwest airlines and also with Horizon air because some airlines have agreements on transferring luggage from one airline to another.  If these two airlines do not have that joint agreement then you will have to collect your luggage at SEATAC airport and then check your luggage into Horizon air counter before you continue your flight to British Columbia in Canada.

Remember to call both airlines and check the info out and each time that you call get the name of the person or their id number of the person that you talked to concerning this information.

  2. yes you will have to recheck the bags and get a new boarding pass and also you will have to go through the customs at the airport before you enter canada and again when you get in canada so you will need I.D. and a birth certificate or passport with you to get through the border.

Hope this helps and have a good flight
