Questions about fishing

Question

My boyfriend and i do alot of fishing. he likes to set trout lines. last week he caught a 27 lb. catfish.

anyone want to share their story with me.

any secret bait?

YOU KNOW WHAT, CATFISH EAT ANYTHING!!! I LEARNED A SECRET ON CAT FISHING THE MORE BAIT YOU USE, AND THE DEEPER YOU SET YOUR LINE THE BIGGER THE FISH YOU'LL  CATCH!! I REALLY LIKE USING STINK BAIT FOR CATFISH BUT SHRIMP AND RAW CHICKEN LIVER IS REALLY GOOD, BUT THE BEST THING IVE EVER USED FOR CAT FISH ARE WATER DOGS!!! ITS LIVE BAIT KIND OF LOOKS LIKE A LIZARD ITS EXPENSIVE BAIT BUT CATFISH LOVE THOSE THINGS, JUST HOOK THEM FROM THE LIPS, CAST IT OUT AND IT WILL DO THE REST ON ITS OWN. I CAUGHT A 42 LB CATFISH IN MEXICO WITH THOSE THINGS. AND TO FISH TROUT AND BASS I USE BERKLEY GULP ALIVE "MINNOWS", THIS STUFF IS AWESOME ITS KIND OF EXPENSIVE BUT ITS REALLY, REALLY GOOD!!!!

as far as trout go i have great luck on medium sized spinner lures and somtime mealworms.  

as far a catfish my secret weapon is chicken livers and chicken hearts tied tightly to my hook with excess fishing line or even womens stockings to ensure you dont get your bait robbed.

If your willing to use sunfish as bait use the liver or intestines of the fish and hook it tightly around your hook youll catch almost anything on that.  I use this trick when i have a fish swallow the hook and will probably die anyway

I had a buddy in Florida years ago, (Winter Garden), that used to set Catfish trotlines commercially, and believe it or not, no ****, he used to bait his hooks with those little styrafome curly ques that they use to ship fragile stuff with, this guy was amazingly succesful and very rarely had an empty hook, I used to help him out and was always amazed. These fish would eat dogshit if you could keep it on the hook.

Chicken Liver or Perch and a pretty good size hook cuz it seems like there is some pretty good size catfish there.

I believe it's trot lines - but anyway my grandfather used to catch blue crab on the St. Johns River in JAX FL and he would bait his crab traps with the catfish guts/heads from his trot lines.

He would set out his trot lines every day using common bar soap as bait!! cut up a bar of soap and put it on the hooks. Next day we'd come out and pull in full stringers of fish... he'd clean them selling the fish to the local resturaunts as well as the crabs he caught too!!

If it was a secret bait i wouldn't be telling anyone, lol, ive always found chicken liver good for catfish, i always fished for them in large lake at the back of my grandparents farm in AL.Great times! any recent fishing stories well that would be that about a month or so ago i took a 4 day fishing trip, i fly fish and didn't go far, i mainly stuck to my local streams for trout, i had a brown of about 4lb which is a good size considering its wild, i caught it on a size 22 midge imitation, fished on a tapered leader on a 3wt rod and line.
