  1. First before you get like bombed with annoying people the correct term is Stretching gauges are just the jewlery and I started when I was 13 and I have been doing it for about 7 months now I am at a 4 almost to a 2. With the pain it depends on how much you can take but for me it doesn't really hurt until you get bigger. First get your ears pierced at a 20 or 18 gauge which is normal then let it heal then go to a 16 wait about 3 weeks and then go to a 14 and so on just give it about 3 weeks when you first start then if you do get bigger like 6 and 4s let it heal about 4-5 weeks just to make sure and DO NOT skip sizes worst thing you can do you can have may things happen if you do skip. Last I did it all myself no store or anything you just get a taper and plugs or flesh tunnles whatever you wanna call them and do it you self but remember slow and steady oh and I do sea salt soaks after I go to a new size just get some warm water and a bit of salt and soak your ear in it. Well I hope  that helped you if you wanna know more or anything you can email me.

  2. First of all you have to get your ears pierced. Then AFTER they heal thin you can start stretching them. If you wait long enough you can start stretching at a 14g and skip 16g. thin wait till it heals. If you don't wait for it to heal or if you skip gauges then you could tear your ear. The first couple gauges aren't to noticeable. No one noticed I was gauging until I got to about a 6g. If you wait till it heals it just feels like a pinch but if you gauge your ears to fast then it can hurt. If your ears start bleeding then you are doing it to fast. I always put new gauges in the shower. You should use tapers then put plugs in. Make sure you clean your ear and the jewelry before you put it in. Its gonna take a while to get to a good size.

Oh if you want it to go back to normal don't go any bigger then a 2g or 0g. Some say 00g is ok but you don't want to push it. If you do skip it will make it harder to close up normally.

    Hope I helped

    Good Luck
