Questions about getting a Jet Ski?

Hi :)

I have couple of questions.

Do you need license to ride a jet ski in New York?

Is there an age limit to ride one? Im 16.

Whats the difference between Jet Ski and Waverunner?

Or what are they used for? If the same thing, why different names?

I rode a jet ski in Mexico, it was expensive for only half an hour. Now I might buy one.

And whats a good Jet ski or Waverunner to buy?

ok you do need a liscense if you have a driving lisence your ok but if not getr a boaters lisence.. if your with someone older then 18 you can ride it without any lisence

there is no age limit

Im not sure the diffrence or any of that

A good jet ski is either a sea doo..polaris..or yamaha  i like sea doos best

According to what I've read about the laws in New York the minimum age to operate a PWC (personal water craft aka jet ski) is 14.

The difference between a Jet Ski and a Wave Runner is only the brand name. They are both PWCs. Jet Ski is what Kawasaki calls their PWCs, and Wave Runner is Yamaha's brand name.

I have ridden many different types of PWCs and they are all pretty good. I currently own a '95 Tigershark and a '07 Yamaha. I must say that over the years I've liked these two brands the best but it's all pretty much a matter of opinion.

If you r 14 u need an RYA license but 16+ u don't need a license

Jet ski was the name given by Kawasaki but a waverunner is a yamaha ski
